What is Little Nippers Surf Life Saving?


The course provides children with essential water safety skills, especially in ocean environments. They build confidence around the water and in their own swimming strength. Students gain the skills necessary to potentially save lives in the future.

    • Swimming in the ocean: Children learn basic swimming techniques in the ocean under supervision.

    • Ocean safety: Educates children about identifying hazards in the ocean, such as rips and currents, and how to respond appropriately.

    • Surf life saving: Introduces children to surf life saving skills, including CPR, rescues, and first aid basics.

    • Fun activities: Incorporates fun games and activities to keep children engaged while learning important water safety skills.

    • Qualified instructors: All sessions are led by qualified instructors who prioritise safety and provide a supportive learning environment for children.

Overall, the Little Nippers program offers a comprehensive approach to water safety education, preparing children to enjoy the ocean safely while also instilling valuable life-saving skills.

 

Details

TERM 3, 2026!

  • Children must be able to swim at least 20m in a pool.

  • Children must be school aged. Groups will be formed based on age and ability.

  • Saturday Mornings 9:00 – 10:30

  • Location: Tasi Tolu

  • $20 per session

  • Swim shirt and hat $20 (mandatory for students to use for safety)
